Abstract(s)
Um dos principais desafios para o futuro do turismo e da hotelaria é a sustentabilidade. Desenvolver a atividade turística com vista a alcançar um equilíbrio entre as áreas de intervenção da sustentabilidade (ambiental, económica e social), é crucial para trilhar o caminho de um turismo sustentável.
O objetivo geral deste trabalho visa compreender o nível de aplicação das práticas de sustentabilidade dos hotéis com classificação de 3, 4 e 5 estrelas no município de Loulé. Foi criado um inquérito por questionário dirigido aos diretores hoteleiros dos hotéis acima referidos. Aplicado o questionário, foi recolhida uma amostra de 15 em 25 respostas possíveis. A análise foi efetuada a partir do Google Forms e Excel.
Esta dissertação procurou discutir os resultados da implementação do questionário e contribuir desta forma para a atividade turística e hoteleira ser orientada por práticas sustentáveis atualmente e no futuro.
As constantes adversidades que se colocam ao crescimento e desenvolvimento sustentável devem servir como motivo para que as unidades hoteleiras mudem os seus comportamentos e adotem novas práticas no combate às alterações climáticas.
O sucesso do setor turístico e hoteleiro está diretamente relacionado com a implementação da sustentabilidade, dado que além de ser uma tendência é também o garante da continuidade do setor a longo prazo.
One of the main challenges for the future of tourism and hospitality is sustainability. Developing tourist activity with a view to achieving a balance between the areas (environmental, economic and social) of sustainability intervention is crucial to promoting sustainable tourism. The general objective of this work aims to understand the level of application of sustainability practices in hotels rated 3, 4 and 5 stars in the municipality of Loulé. A survey was created aimed at hotel directors of the hotels mentioned above. After applying the questionnaire, a sample of 15 out of 25 possible responses was collected. The analysis was carried out using Google Forms and Excel. This dissertation sought to discuss the results of implementing the questionnaire and thus contribute to tourism and hotel activity being guided by sustainable practices currently and in the future. The constant adversities facing growth and sustainable development should serve as a reason for hotel units to change their behaviour and adopt new practices to combat climate change. The success of the tourism and hotel sector is directly related to the implementation of sustainability, as in addition to being a trend, it also guarantees the sector's long-term continuity.
