Abstract(s)
The species Cannabis sativa L., also known as hemp, belongs to the Cannabaceae family. From this plant extracts various compounds, including cannabinoids, which are responsible for most of the biological activities of this species. The biological effects of cannabinoids occur through the activation of receptors mediated by the endocannabinoid system. In addition to therapeutic applications, hemp is also widely used in the construction and insulation industries and has been showing increasing value in the food and cosmetics industry. This work focuses on the biological activities of different cannabinoids, as well as their therapeutic applications in some pathologies such as cancer, pain, epilepsy and neurodegenerative diseases. In addition to the above, it will also cover a little history, botany and methods of drying and extracting hemp.
