Abstract(s)
A espécie Cannabis sativa L., também conhecida por cânhamo-indiano, pertence
à família Cannabaceae. Desta planta extraem-se diversos compostos, nomeadamente
os canabinóides, sendo estes os responsáveis pela maioria das atividades biológicas
desta espécie. Os efeitos biológicos dos canabinóides ocorrem através da ativação de
recetores mediados pelo sistema endocanabinóide.
Para além de aplicações terapêuticas, o cânhamo-indiano também é muito
usado em indústrias de construção e isolamento e tem vindo a mostrar cada vez mais
valor na indústria alimentar e cosmética.
O presente trabalho foca-se nas atividades biológicas dos diversos canabinóides,
bem como, nas suas aplicações terapêuticas em algumas patologias tais como, cancro,
dor, epilepsia e doenças neurodegenerativas. Para além do mencionado, irá ainda
abordar um pouco da história, botânica e métodos de secagem e extração de cânhamo india

The biological effects of cannabinoids occur through the activation of receptors mediated by the endocannabinoid system. In addition to therapeutic applications, hemp is also widely used in the construction and insulation industries and has been showing increasing value in the food and cosmetics industry. This work focuses on the biological activities of different cannabinoids, as well as their therapeutic applications in some pathologies such as cancer, pain, epilepsy and neurodegenerative diseases. In addition to the above, it will also cover a little history, botany and methods of drying and extracting hemp.
