O stress profissional entre os funcionários do setor turístico: o caso do Aeroporto Internacional de Faro

| dc.description.abstract | A presente dissertação analisa a possível existência de stress profissional entre os funcionários do setor turístico e a sua relação com a satisfação profissional e intenção de saída dos mesmos. O setor em questão sempre apresentou fracas condições de trabalho e foi um dos mais afetados a nível global pela pandemia da Covid-19, por isso, sujeita os seus colaboradores a elevados níveis de stress profissional. A investigação decorreu no Aeroporto Internacional de Faro, pelo facto de ser um local marcado pela movimentação diária e massiva de turistas. Por intermédio da aplicação de um inquérito por questionário online e presencial, obteve-se uma amostra não probabilística, por bola de neve, de 121 respondentes. A maioria dos funcionários inquiridos são do género feminino, solteiros, licenciados e sem filhos. A média de idades corresponde a 38 anos e a da antiguidade na empresa corresponde a 8 anos. A maioria está efetiva, trabalha no setor do handling/aviação, a full-time e por turnos. Os resultados revelam que os funcionários inquiridos estiveram frequentemente sob stress no trabalho nos seis meses anteriores à implementação dos questionários. Além disso, os resultados mostram que existe uma relação negativa entre o stress profissional e a satisfação profissional dos inquiridos, bem como uma relação positiva entre o stress profissional e a intenção de saída deste setor de atividade. Este estudo contribui com resultados significativos que podem ser utilizados pelas chefias do setor turístico aeroportuário, de forma a criar estratégias de recursos humanos que diminuam o stress profissional e promovam um maior bem-estar entre os funcionários. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | This dissertation analyses the possible existence of job stress among employees in the tourism sector and its relationship with their job satisfaction and intention to leave the organization. The sector in question has always presented poor working conditions and was one of the most affected at a global level by the Covid-19 pandemic, therefore, it subjects its employees to high levels of job stress. The research took place at Faro International Airport, since it is a place marked by the daily and massive movement of tourists. Through the application of an online and face-to-face questionnaire survey, a non-probabilistic snowball sample of 121 respondents was obtained. Most of the employees surveyed are female, single, with university degrees and without children. The average age corresponds to 38 years and seniority in the company corresponds to 8 years. The majority is permanent, works in the handling/aviation sector, full-time and in shifts. The results reveal that the employees surveyed were frequently under stress at work in the six months prior to the implementation of the questionnaires. Furthermore, the results show that there is a negative relationship between job stress and job satisfaction of the respondents, as well as a positive relationship between job stress and intention to leave this industry. This study contributes significant results that can be used by managers in the airport tourism sector to create human resource strategies that decrease job stress and promote greater well-being among employees. | pt_PT |
