Neste trabalho, propõe-se uma análise de Adaptaiion (Spike Jonze, 2002) alicerçada no conceito de adaptação. Se adaptação pode ser, por um lado, o trabalho de apropriação de um texto por outro, neste caso a adaptação cinematográfica do texto de Susan Orlean, The orchid thief pelo argumentista / protagonista Charlie Kaufman (Nicolas Cage); por outro lado, o vocábulo adaptação remete instantaneamente para a teoria evolucionista de Charles Darwin. A dissertação que se segue problematizará, sobretudo, a adaptação c, por extensão, a evolução, do processo de criação artística do argumento cinematográfico que Kaufman dever redigir.
In this work, an analysis of the film Adaptation (Spike Jonze, 2002) will be conducted laking into account lhe concept of adaptation. If, on lhe one hand, adaptation is the means of appropriation of a given text by a different one, in this case, the adaptation to film of Susan Orlean' text, The orchid íhief by the charaeler / sereenwriter Charlie Kaufman (Nicolas Cage); on the other hand, adaptation dircets us to the evolutionist theories of Charles Darwin. The leitmotif of this dissertation shall be the concept of adaptation, as well as the concept of evolution, of Kaufman's creative process while writing the screenplay above mentioned.
