Resumo(s)
This research aimed to develop a Portuguese version of the Freiburg Mindfulness Inventory (FMI) short form and investigate its psychometric properties through two complementary studies. The first study included a sample of 337 participants. It analyzed the scale's internal consistency, reliability, and factorial validity by conducting an exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis using a randomly divided sample of the general population. The second study examined the convergent and concurrent validity, temporal stability, and sensitivity to change in the FMI among participants in an Interculturality and Mindfulness program (n = 150). The results indicated high internal consistency and reliability for the Portuguese version of FMI (omega = 0.87). The exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis reinforced the instrument's unidimensional solution. The findings supported the convergent and concurrent validity, temporal stability, and sensitivity to change. The translated version's psychometric qualities are satisfactory and can be used to assess mindfulness in the Portuguese population.
